Context affects how we receive & express narrative
We receive information differently depending on how we feel — our own state of minds and the environment in which we are receiving it. We also share information differently depending on our own state of minds and environment.
Many people aim to standardize and amplify messages, but we can't, shouldn’t, and don’t want to standardize the experiences of people receiving them and what's going on around them when they receive it.
Everyone one receives information differently depending on:
Our external environment: Is it joyful or stressful for us? Does it foster belonging? Is it healthy? Are we at ease?
Our internal state of mind: Did we enter the space of narrative in a state of vulnerability? Young? In pain? Happy? Looking for something?
